Why use a code?

This feature is essential for communicating with an international community.

By sharing a date as plain text, each user has to interpret it according to:

Their time zone
The standard date format of their region

For example, 01/05/2034 1:02 PM in New York is equivalent to 05/01/2034 19:02 in Paris.

Using the code will allow Discord to automatically select the appropriate display based on each user's preferences. This avoids sources of error, confusion, or wasted time.
